Since 2019, the Fashion School of Manchester Metropolitan University and the Fashion School of Wuhan Textile University have launched a joint teaching project for many years. In 2021, it will be the second phase of the joint teaching program with the theme of fashion sustainable development. Industry is one of the most important creative industries in the world. It touches the lives of most people around the world, helps us construct and communicate our identity, and provides livelihoods for millions. However, it requires a lot of water, energy and toxic chemicals, producing more and more carbon emissions, pollution and textile waste. Its wasteful and polluting supply chain operations contributed to the climate crisis, especially as fast fashion's growth relied on cheap manufacturing, frequent consumption and brief use before being thrown away. We call on young designers to make their voices heard. The world is crying out for change and it is our responsibility to act now.

Launched in early March 2021, after much discussion and organization, Students from MMU worked in cross-disciplinary groups with other Fashion, Textile, Design and Fashion students from WTU in China. Communication with the Chinese students took place on the Dingtalk platform. Led by professor Hui Tao, the dean of fashion College WTU, many young teachers participated in the guidance.

From the students' group design scheme to the final design of clothing, fruitful results have been achieved. Including 3 lectures and 1 joint fashion show.
